Information Technology – Systems Engineering
At our training center in Friesach (Carinthia), we offer our apprentices in-depth theoretical and practical training. You can put the theoretical knowledge you have acquired at school into practice every day. From day one, you’ll be a valuable part of our team and gradually grow into your diverse areas of responsibility.
As an information technologist with a focus on systems technology, you provide customers and colleagues with IT devices such as computers, monitors, mobile devices (tablets, laptops), projectors, printers, etc. as well as the appropriate software and ensure that they function smoothly. You also design and plan networks, server, data storage and backup systems and create authorization concepts. You procure the required hardware and software and configure the devices for users and the network. You are responsible for ensuring that the required needs are met as cost-effectively and sustainably as possible. As a result, you are often in contact with a wide range of departments. You are also involved in maintenance work and, where applicable, are responsible for the smooth operation of production and machine tools. In addition, you conduct training sessions, for example to explain new developments.
- Coordinate expectations regarding functionality and requirements of IT systems and devices with colleagues
- Advise colleagues about possible IT system solutions
- Assist in planning and developing new environments and solutions in the company’s IT landscape
- Create implementation concept as well as time, cost and project plan
- User end devices and peripherals, selecting, deploying, configuring (setting up) components
- Create network topology and develop, install and configure infrastructure components
- Develop, install (including server room), configure server systems
- Install and set up cloud services, data storage systems, backup solutions
- Create and implement authorization concepts, set up user interfaces
- Network services such as Content Management System (CMS), setting up interfaces
- Configure and put into operation services to support group work (groupware)
- Implement measures for data security, data protection and possibly data encryption
- Check and ensure performance and functional reliability
- Carry out maintenance and repairs, troubleshoot
- Document work and tests, create operating manuals, train colleagues
